An esteemed Continental restaurant in Oman is urgently seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. This is a key role for a chef with a strong background in Continental cuisine who is ready to oversee kitchen operations, maintain exceptional standards, and contribute to menu excellence.

📋 Position Overview

As the Sous Chef, you will work directly under the Head Chef/Executive Chef to manage daily kitchen operations. You will be responsible for supervising the culinary team, ensuring consistency and quality in all dishes, and helping to drive the restaurant’s reputation for authentic and innovative Continental dining.

✅ Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in planning, organizing, and directing all kitchen activities.

  • Supervise and train kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Continental dishes.

  • Ensure all food meets the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.

  • Help manage food costs, inventory, and kitchen supplies efficiently.

  • Uphold strict hygiene, health, and safety standards (HACCP) in the kitchen.

  • Contribute to menu development and seasonal updates with creative, on-brand ideas.

  • Step in for the Head Chef in their absence and maintain smooth kitchen operations.

🎯 Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie with a specialized background in Continental cuisine.

  • Cuisine Expertise: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in preparing classic and modern European/Continental dishes.

  • Leadership: Strong supervisory and team management skills.

  • Work Ethic: Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced restaurant environment.

  • Attributes: Excellent organizational skills, creativity, and a commitment to culinary excellence.

💰 Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: 500 KD per month (competitive, based on experience).

  • Accommodation: Free, shared accommodation provided.

  • Contract: Stable 2-year employment contract with company sponsorship.

  • Additional Benefits: Typically includes medical insurance, annual leave with airfare, and end-of-service benefits as per Omani labor law.
